Nogal Reserve

The Nogal Nature & Community Project in Costa Rica began in 2004 as a public-private partnership, between Swiss retailer Migros, German retailer GTZ and ourselves, aiming to protect bio-diversity with community involvement.

We dedicated part of our banana farm as a nature preserve, covering more than
100 hectares (250 acres) of tropical rainforest.

In 2006 the Costa Rican government passed a decree making it an official
wildlife refuge.
